Siliguri. Former Dabgram-Phulbari block president Debashish Pramanik, who was arrested on charges of land grabbing, has been released from jail after serving a month’s sentence. He was warmly welcomed by his supporters on his return home, but with his return, Pramanik has made serious allegations against the Trinamool Congress. Debashish said, “A group of thieves from the party itself has framed me. This was a well-planned conspiracy against me. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee should have ordered an impartial investigation into this entire matter.”
His supporters also expressed confidence that Pramanik is innocent and has been falsely implicated. This case came into the limelight when Pramanik was arrested and sent to jail on charges of land grabbing.
Pramanik’s remarks have raised questions about the internal affairs of the Trinamool Congress, and speculations of a rift in the party are also being made. Now it will be interesting to see what stand the party and the government take on this matter, especially when senior leaders like Pramanik are making such allegations.
