A bike mechanic has been accused of putting petrol by putting petrol by putting petrol in a minor dispute on Sunday night in RK Puram area of Delhi. The victim is admitted to the trauma center, where his condition is said to be stable. The injured have been identified as Rahul Chauhan (40), a resident of Vasant village. The police have registered a case of attempt to murder and arrested the accused. The accused has been identified as Gaya Prasad alias Kalu (42), a resident of Palam village.

According to DCP Amit Goyal, RK Puram police station received information through a PCR call at around 9:30 pm on Sunday night that a person has been set on fire by putting petrol in Sector-8 market. SHO Ravindra Tyagi reached the spot with the team. A person was found badly scorched at the scene. The police immediately admitted him to the nearby Trauma Center. According to the police, initial investigation has revealed that the injured Rahul is a cleaning worker in the Municipal Corporation (MCD). He is also a worker of a political party.
The police is questioning the accused.
According to a police officer, Rahul was sitting in a Maruti Baleno car in Sector 8 Market with his cousin Siddhant Raj and two others at the time of the accident. A bike was parked in the car market in front of the repairing shop. During interrogation, the victim’s brother Siddhant Raj said that the shop where the car was parked is of Gaya Prasad alias Kalu. He is a bike mechanic. According to the principle, Gaya Prasad asked Rahul and him to remove the car from there. On this, he got into an argument with Gaya Prasad and the accused sprayed petrol and set it on fire. At the same time, according to sources, Rahul and his friends were smoking cigarettes at the time of the incident, which caused the fire due to contact with petrol and Rahul got scorched.
