A husband and wife living in Shalimar Garden in Ghaziabad, adjacent to Delhi, have committed suicide. He was deep in debt, due to which he took this dreadful step. The bodies of both were hanging from the fan in separate rooms. Police and forensic team reached the spot. An 11-page suicide note was found at the spot. In this, the deceased couple has told about debt and the reasons for committing suicide. The couple was troubled by threats from debt collectors. A constable of Delhi Police was also included among them.

We don’t want to die. They are asking for some time, but those asking for money are troublesome. So now there is no option. These words were written by the deceased wife on the last page of the suicide note. According to which, loan seekers were continuously harassing him. Fed up, he chose the path of death. The incident took place on December 18 and the couple who committed suicide have been identified as Pankaj Gupta and Reena Gupta. Both of them committed suicide by hanging themselves from the fan in different rooms of the house.

According to the information, deceased Pankaj Gupta and Reena Gupta were divorced. They had married each other. Pankaj Gupta has a son from his first wife. He is 12 years old and mentally handicapped. He stays with his grandfather in another house all day. Pankaj’s brother came to know about the accident when he reached their house and found the door of the room open. When he went inside he was stunned to see the sight. The bodies of his brother and sister-in-law were hanging. Seeing this she screamed. People from nearby reached the spot. Information was given to the police. Police called the forensic team for investigation. An 11-page suicide note has been recovered from the spot.

According to police sources, in the 11-page suicide note, 10 pages were written by Pankaj Gupta and the last page was written by his wife Reena. It has been told that he has a debt. Pankaj has written that he had opened a club with his friend, in which the friend cheated him and gave a loan of lakhs of rupees. When she asked him for money several times, her maternal uncle, a constable in Delhi Police, used to protect her and threaten her. Pankaj told through the suicide note that the flat in which he lives belongs to a person from Manipur. He had taken it on lease for Rs 5 lakh in 2018 with the help of a dealer.

Pankaj has written that there was talk of buying this house from the dealer, but due to his death during the Corona period, he could not buy it. Pankaj has told that the landlord’s daughter used to harass him every day to vacate the house. Once she took him to a police station in Delhi. There he was threatened. The outpost in-charge threatened a lawsuit, in return for which the outpost in-charge took 40 thousand rupees. A check of Rs 1 lakh 40 thousand was also given to the landlady’s daughter. Pankaj wrote that the landlady’s daughter used to threaten him to vacate the house and asked him to clear the cheque. She used to threaten one of her relatives by calling him an international boxer and would send police to his house.
