New Delhi,. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday announced the Delhi Election Committee for the selection of candidates in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. This list includes 21 names including Manoj Tiwari, Bansuri Swaraj, Arvinder Singh Lovely and Virendra Sachdeva.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva has announced the formation of Delhi BJP Election Committee with the consent of the party leadership. It also includes Delhi MPs, three former state presidents as well as former minister Arvind Singh Lovely, who joined BJP from Congress.
In this election committee, Delhi BJP State President Virendra Sachdeva, National General Secretary Dushyant Gautam, Delhi Assembly Leader of Opposition Vijendra Gupta, Union Minister of State and BJP MP Harsh Malhotra, former Union Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan Singh, former Delhi BJP State President Satish Upadhyay, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari, MP Yogendra Chandolia, MP Kamaljit Sehrawat, MP Ramveer Singh Bidhuri, MP Praveen Khandelwal, MP Bansuri Swaraj, former MLA Arvind Singh Lovely, BJP National Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Organization Minister Pawan Rana, Delhi BJP General Secretary Vishnu Mittal, Leader of Opposition in MCD Raja Iqbal Singh, Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha President Richa Pandey Mishra, Delhi BJP in-charge and MP Baijayant Panda, election co-in-charge. Atul Garg and National Secretary Alka Gurjar have got the place.
State election in-charge Baijayant Jai Panda, election co-in-charge Atul Garg and state co-in-charge Dr. Alka Gurjar are special invitees in the election committee.
According to media reports, elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly are expected to be held in February 2025. BJP is in the final stages of selecting candidates. The party may announce the names of the candidates in the last week of December.
