New Delhi. 3 students died due to water logging in Rao IAS Coaching Centre located in Old Rajendra Nagar of the capital Delhi. One of them is also a JNU student. 2 people have been detained in this case. A magistrate has also been ordered to investigate this tragic incident. Delhi Fire Department was informed over the phone at around 7 pm on Saturday night that the basement of the coaching centre was flooded. According to the information, the basement was filled with water up to 12 feet in just 3 minutes. Divers had to be deployed to rescue the trapped students due to so much water. According to Central Delhi DCP M. Harsh Vardhan, an investigation is being conducted as to how the basement of the coaching centre got filled with water so fast.

Students told the media that when they came out of the library, water was filling up rapidly. Water was coming into the basement so fast that they were unable to get out using the stairs. Students told the media that ropes were thrown to rescue them, but the water was dirty and nothing was visible. For rescue, water was pumped out using four pumps. Divers recovered the bodies of 3 students late at night. The rescue operation also faced problems because all the furniture was floating in the water. Students are very angry about the whole matter. Politics has also heated up in this matter. BJP MP from New Delhi seat Bansuri Swaraj has alleged that this situation arose due to the drain not being cleaned. Bansuri Swaraj said that for a week the local people were requesting Aam Aadmi Party MLA Durgesh Pathak to get the drain cleaned, but no action was taken in this direction. Bansuri Swaraj said that the drain water filled the basement of the coaching center.
