Delhi High Court Jolt To Arvind Kejriwal: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal gets a big setback from Delhi High Court, did not get interim bail in CBI arrest case, Delhi high court declines interim bail to CM Arvind Kejriwal in cbi arrest matter in liquor scam case

New Delhi. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has received a big blow from the Delhi High Court. The Delhi High Court has rejected Arvind Kejriwal’s interim bail plea in the liquor scam case. Arvind Kejriwal had challenged the legality of his arrest by the CBI in his plea. After this decision of the Delhi High Court, Arvind Kejriwal will now have to knock at the doors of the Supreme Court once again for release from Tihar Jail. The Supreme Court had already granted interim bail to Arvind Kejriwal in the case of his arrest by the ED, but Kejriwal could not be released from jail due to the ongoing hearing in the CBI case in the Delhi High Court.

Arvind Kejriwal was recently arrested by the CBI from Tihar Jail and presented in the Rouse Avenue Court. The Rouse Avenue Court sent Arvind Kejriwal on CBI remand. After which he was sent back to Tihar Jail. Arvind Kejriwal had sought bail from the Delhi High Court by calling his arrest and remand by the CBI illegal. Arvind Kejriwal’s lawyers had argued that two different agencies cannot arrest in the same case. Also, Arvind Kejriwal’s lawyers had called their client’s second arrest politically motivated.

Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal was arrested and taken on remand by ED in the month of March this year. ED has presented a charge sheet of liquor scam against Arvind Kejriwal in the court. In this charge sheet, ED has claimed that Arvind Kejriwal is the kingpin of Delhi’s liquor scam. ED claimed in the charge sheet that by doing the liquor scam, Arvind Kejriwal took 100 crores from South Cartel for Aam Aadmi Party. Apart from this, he demanded additional money. ED also claims that out of this amount of 100 crores, 45 crores were spent by Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party during the assembly elections in Goa. At the same time, Arvind Kejriwal has denied the allegations and said that he has nothing to do with the alleged liquor scam. Kejriwal has also argued that ED has not been able to recover even a single penny related to the liquor scam so far.
