New Delhi. The issue of idols of 27 temples in the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque built in the Qutub Minar complex of Delhi is gaining momentum. United Hindu Front has announced to read Hanuman Chalisa here today. Along with this, permission has been sought to replace and worship the idols in the mosque. Apart from this, the organization has demanded that Qutub Minar be given the name of Vishnu Stambh. Please tell that there are many idols in Quwwat-ul-Masjid. The special displeasure is regarding the two idols of Lord Ganesha. These idols are placed upside down. Front president Jai Bhagwan Goyal has said that he will read Hanuman Chalisa in front of the mosque along with his supporters. They say that when the idols of God are installed in the structure, then worship should be allowed there or the idols should be replaced somewhere.
Goyal said that it is clear that the mosque was built by demolishing 27 Hindu and Jain temples. If there are idols, then this structure is the temple itself. He said that many experts say that Qutub Minar was the first Vishnu pillar. People of different ideology wrote history wrong. In such a situation, we are demanding to declare Qutub Minar as a Vishnu pillar. Quwwat-ul-Masjid has idols of Lord Ganesha on the back side. An idol is placed just above the drain. The ASI has covered it with an iron net. Some distance away, another idol of Ganesha is lying upside down. There are also idols of an incarnation of Lord Krishna at one place in the mosque.
Qutub Minar was built by Qutubuddin Aibak, the general of Muhammad Ghori and the founder of the Ghulam dynasty. Whereas, the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque was built by Alauddin Khilji. After destroying Hindu and Jain temples, Alauddin built the mosque using their own pillars and other things. There is also the tomb of Khilji in the Qutub Minar complex.
