New Delhi. 2 girl students and a boy student lost their lives due to water logging in the basement of IAS coaching centre in Old Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. The special thing is that on 26 June 2024, a student named Kishore Singh Kushwaha had complained to the Delhi government about this. In this complaint, it was said that the people of the coaching centre are running classrooms in the basement without NOC. The student had expressed apprehension in the complaint that a big accident could happen here someday. Even the complainant gave reminders on his complaint on 15 and 22 July. The investigation of this complaint was with EE-B-KBZ Kumar Mahendra of the Building Department. The question is whether Kumar Mahendra took any action on this? Because if action was taken, then how did this accident happen!
The basement of Rau’s coaching centre was meant for storage but a library was built there, that too with a biometric lock.
But Delhi Fire Service and MCD did not see all this during inspection and directly issued the certificate.

At the same time, it has also been revealed that the Delhi Fire Department had given permission to the IAS coaching centre to make a store room in the basement. Even after this, a library was made there instead of a store room. The special thing is that a biometric door was installed on the door of this library. That means whoever enters or leaves here, has to enter biometrics and then the door opens. When suddenly on Saturday, the rain water filled up to a height of 12 feet in the basement in 3 minutes, the students had difficulty in getting out. The water was dirty and the students were not even able to see the ropes that were thrown there to take them out.
After this terrible accident on Saturday, Delhi Mayor Shaili Oberoi has now instructed the concerned officers to visit the MCD areas in Delhi and check whether the basement rules are being violated or not. But the question is that when a complaint was lodged 10 days ago regarding the possibility of an accident and an officer was also appointed to investigate it, why no action was taken?
