In view of the festival of Rakhi, colorful rakhis have started selling in the shops. Sisters are busy buying rakhis for their brothers, while brothers are also busy selecting gifts for their beloved sisters. Amidst all this, Delhi Metro has also geared up. Special preparations have been made so that brothers as well as sisters do not face any problem in commuting. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation i.e. DMRC has given detailed information about these preparations. Along with this, some advice has also been given to the common people, so that they do not have to face problems in commuting anywhere by metro train on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
DMRC has issued a statement regarding the preparations for Rakshabandhan. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has kept additional metro trains on standby to deal with the rush of passengers on Rakshabandhan festival on Monday. DMRC said that special facilities will be provided for the extra crowd on that day by opening additional ticket counters. Also, additional staff will be deployed at the stations on the day of Rakshabandhan, so that there is no chaos. It has been said that for the convenience of passengers on the festival of Rakshabandhan on Monday, additional metro trains will be kept on standby in every corridor of Delhi Metro, so that it can be used when needed.

Delhi Metro has also made a special request to the passengers. On the occasion of Rakshabandhan, DMRC has advised people traveling by metro train to buy tickets online, so that they do not have to stand in long queues. Delhi Metro said that along with smart card, QR tickets can be purchased through other means like DMRC Momentum 2.O, WhatsApp, Paytm, One Delhi, Amazon Pay. The statement said that guards / customer service agents (CFAs) will be deployed at major metro stations to help and guide the passengers on that day.
The record was broken
A record 72.38 lakh people traveled in the Delhi Metro on August 13, which is the highest number of people traveling in the metro in a day so far. DMRC had given this information. DMRC had said that Delhi Metro has surpassed its previous achievement achieved in February this year. According to the data released by DMRC, a total of 72,38,271 people traveled in the metro on August 13. Earlier, the daily number of passengers traveling in Delhi Metro was recorded at 71.09 lakh on February 13, 71.07 lakh on August 12, 71.04 lakh on September 4, 2023 and 70.88 lakh on February 12, 2024.
