New Delhi. Tribal society has had an important position in India since ancient times. But the British changed the definition. They coined new definitions, gave new names for colonial reasons. Started using the word Tribal and defined it in a European way, which did not apply to India. Thus for nearly 150 years, he created a story that continues to this day. He composed this story in the form of ethnography. The result of this story is that the tribal society is considered a burden. The truth is that tribal society is an asset, not a burden. National Commission for Scheduled Tribes Chairman Harsh Chauhan said these things in a program organized in Senate Hall from IIT Delhi. On behalf of the commission, a program on research in tribal communities and universities was organized at IIT Delhi. Apart from Patna, Ranchi, Patna, Himachal Pradesh University and IIT Raipur, Vice Chancellors of more than 30 universities across the country participated in the program.
In fact, under the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence, the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes has asked various universities across the country to conduct research on the heroes coming from the tribal society. So that the stories of those heroes can also reach the people. Apart from this, universities have been asked to promote research work on various subjects related to tribal society.
The Chairman of the Commission, Harsh Chauhan, while throwing more light on this subject said that the makers of our constitution had this vision and therefore they made wonderful provisions for the tribal society which is the only one in the world. We should be proud of his vision. There are no such provisions anywhere in the world to protect the wealth of the tribal society.
Tribal society is a silent society. He doesn’t make noise. Initially, there was only one ministry of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, although there is a lot of difference between the two. Self. A separate ministry was formed in the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the commission was formed. But the problem of our country is that from the policy makers to its implementers and academia, there is very little information about the tribal society. The present government has taken note of this and many schemes have been made.
The main problem in all these schemes and their implementation is that there is a huge gap between the image of the tribal society and their reality. An image of tribal society has been created in the country on the basis of colonial plot, which is completely different from their reality. Generally policies are made on the basis of that image and hence they are not implemented even after being made with good intentions. The solution lies with the universities. Tribal society is taught in universities that what you know is not you, you are what we are teaching about you. He also gets confused. This is what is causing confusion. We have to consider this here. It is necessary to consider how to conduct research on tribal societies and their issues. Research will start with universities, only then will it be resolved. Anant Nayak, member of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, Alka Tiwari, Secretary of the Commission, scholars and many other dignitaries attended the program.
