Heavy rains caused problems in the national capital Delhi on Wednesday. Due to this, at least 10 flights that were scheduled to land at Delhi airport in the evening were diverted. An official said that at least 10 flights were diverted at the airport after 7:30 pm due to bad weather. Heavy rains lashed the national capital, leading to waterlogging and traffic jams in many areas. On the social media platform X, many airlines said that flights may be affected due to bad weather.

Flights may be affected

According to the news, Vistara said that due to bad weather at Delhi airport, flight UK998 from Pune to Delhi has been diverted to Lucknow. Flights to and from Delhi may be affected due to bad weather on Wednesday evening. Air India said that passengers are advised to leave for the airport early as there may be delays in movement due to slow traffic and waterlogging.

Leave only after checking the flight status

Domestic budget airline SpiceJet said that due to bad weather (heavy rain) in Delhi, all departures/arrivals and their flights may be affected. IndiGo said in a post on X, “We have a special announcement straight from heaven! The rain gods have decided to shower their blessings on Delhi tonight.”



As a result, we are expecting heavy rain throughout the night. The airline has asked passengers to check their flight status before leaving home. Many passengers are also worried about the impact on flights. Many passengers also shared their problems on social media platform X. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the capital and its surrounding areas till 9 pm. The ‘red’ warning calls for action and vigilance.
