Yellow alert for rain in Delhi
New Delhi: The capital Delhi, which has been facing the brunt of severe heat, is receiving good rainfall these days. On Saturday, the capital received light to moderate rainfall. Due to the rain, water got accumulated on roads at many places. Due to this, common people had to face a lot of difficulties. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain from Wednesday to Friday. According to the Meteorological Department, cloudy weather and moderate rain are expected in Delhi throughout the week.
Heavy rain is expected between Wednesday and Friday
A yellow alert for rain has been issued in the capital Delhi between Wednesday and Friday. Palam recorded 30.1 mm of rain till 8.30 am, Lodhi Road recorded 20.6 mm of rain till 8.30 am and then 4.2 mm of rain till 5.30 pm, Ridge recorded 17.1 mm of rain till 8.30 am and then 34 mm of rain. Ayanagar recorded only 2.9 mm of rain till 8.30 am.
Clouds will remain today too, chances of rain
On Saturday, Delhi’s maximum temperature was recorded at 32.8 degrees Celsius, one degree below normal, while the maximum temperature was 34.8 degrees Celsius a day earlier. The minimum temperature was recorded at 25.8 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal. On Friday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 26.6 degrees Celsius. Safdarjung recorded 17.4 mm rainfall in 24 hours till 8.30 am and 1.3 mm rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm. Humidity ranged between 81% and 100% in the last 24 hours. The sky remained generally cloudy on Saturday and light to moderate rain and thundershowers were observed at many places. Similar weather is expected on Sunday.
Heavy rains expected in many states
On the other hand, clouds have camped in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab and Uttarakhand as well as Kashmir and Himachal. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in 23 states of the country today. Heavy to very heavy rain is expected at different places in Bihar, Assam, Uttarakhand, Eastern Rajasthan, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura today. About 12 cm of rain is expected in these states today.
There is a possibility of light rain with thunder in Rajasthan too
According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain is expected at different places in Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Central Maharashtra. About 7 cm of rain is expected in these states. Along with this, thundershowers may occur at different places in Rajasthan as well. (News Agency, IMD)
