As soon as the Gokalpuri flyover comes down, the flyover will start from pillar number 56 of the Delhi Metro and will end at pillar number 95. This last pillar is near the underpass built at Bhajanpura red light. The pace of work on the double-decker flyover can be gauged from the fact that from pillar number 62 to pillar number 73, pillars have been added on both sides. After putting girders on these pillars, the work of putting slabs on top is still left. Beyond this, guards have been inserted from pillar number 74 to pillar number 78. From pillar number 79 to pillar number 89, slabs have also been put on the girder. The double decker flyover is clearly visible in this part. At the same time, no work has been done from the last pillar number 90 to pillar number 95.
When talking to Delhi Metro about the Double Decker Metro flyover, they said that the work of Phase-4 of the Metro is going on at Wazirabad Road. This entire phase will be ready by March 2025. Along with the Metro, a 1.4 kilometer double decker flyover is also being constructed on this line. If the metro will run on the upper deck, then the general traffic will run on the lower deck. About 60% work of the flyover has been completed. That’s why the flyover will be opened for general traffic in the beginning of the year 2024 itself. Delhi Metro says that the flyover will be started only after getting the green signal from Commissioner Metro Railway Shafti. Because the metro will also run on these pillars.
