New Delhi. The matter of violence on the occasion of Hindu New Year, Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti in many cities including Jahangirpuri of Delhi has now reached the Supreme Court. Lawyer Vineet Jindal has filed an application in the Supreme Court and has demanded the investigation of these cases by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). It has been said in the application that the incidents of violence all over the place do not seem to be a coincidence. Their wires may be interconnected. In such a situation, investigation by NIA is necessary. Let us tell you that apart from Delhi, there was violence and communal tension in different areas of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, West Bengal, Goa, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Bihar, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh on all three festivals.
The cities where violence took place on the occasion of Hindu New Year, Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti are Jahangirpuri and Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi, Khambhat and Himmatnagar in Gujarat, Khargone in Madhya Pradesh, Karauli in Rajasthan, Bankura in West Bengal, Vasco in Goa, Bihar in Lohardaga of Muzaffarpur, Jharkhand. On Saturday itself, there was fierce violence in North West Delhi’s Jahangirpuri on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. Several vehicles were torched. Apart from fierce stone pelting, there was also firing. Several policemen were also injured in this.
According to the FIR of Delhi Police, when the procession reached near Jama Masjid at around 6 pm on Saturday evening, a criminal named Ansar came along with some of his associates and started arguing. After this the situation worsened and stone pelting took place on both sides. Then there was vandalism and arson in vehicles. Swords were raised. So far 21 accused including 4 people of the same family have been arrested in this case. Two of the accused are minors. 5 swords and 3 pistols have been recovered from them.
