If tourists increase, the demand for wood art also increases.
After the inauguration of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham by PM Narendra Modi on 13th December 2021, a record number of devotees are being seen coming to Baba’s Dham in the first Sawan. The wood art industry of Kashi is getting its benefit. After adorning the main temple with 60 kg gold, Shiva devotees are loving its golden aura model carved on wood. The sales of Dham’s models have increased rapidly these days.
The demand for Shiv family and Nandi has also increased
Apart from the model of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, tourists and overseas Indians coming to Varanasi are also very fond of Shiva family painted with natural colors on wood, as well as the figure of Shiva to hang in the vehicles and Shiva riding on Nandi. Not only in the country but also from the Sanatanis settled abroad, there has been a huge demand for it.
PM-CM’s appeal got a new identity
The wooden toy industry has got a new identity due to the appeal of PM and CM Yogi Adityanath. Wooden toy makers Bihari Lal Aggarwal and Shubhi Agarwal said that PM and CM Yogi Adityanath’s appeal to gift the products of traditional industry has shown a positive impact. The effect of his appeal is that people who have turned their backs on this industry are now joining again. This has not only given a new identity to the woodwork of Kashi, it has also provided employment opportunities to the people on a large scale.
The area of the temple was once 3 thousand square feet, now the entire complex is spread over 5 lakh square feet.
Let us tell you that the scope of Kashi Vishwanath temple was earlier limited to about 3000 square feet. Under the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham has expanded to a vast area of about 5 lakh square feet. Apart from this, its aura has also started glowing from 60 kg gold to the summit. Prior to this, in 1835, the then Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Punjab had gilded the summit of Vishwanath temple with about 22 maunds of gold. Even before this, in 1780, Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore had rebuilt Vishwanath temple.
