new Delhi. Mukesh Rajput, Lok Sabha MP from Farurkhabad in Uttar Pradesh has written a letter to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath demanding that Farrukhabad be renamed as Panchal Nagar.
In a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the BJP MP, referring to the history of Farurkhabad, wrote that Farurkhabad, situated between three rivers Ganga, Ramganga and Kali river, used to be the capital of Panchal state. Even before the establishment of Farrukhabad, Kapil, Sankisa, Shringirampur and Shamsabad were famous here.
Speaking to -AnyTV News, Mukesh Rajput confirmed the letter to the Chief Minister, saying that the area is sacred to the followers of both Hindu and Jain religions. Sankisa houses Buddhist monasteries from many countries including Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Thailand, Burma and Japan. He said that tourists from all over the country and abroad come here.
Speaking to -AnyTV News, the BJP MP said that the Mughal ruler Farrukhsiyar had renamed this historical city as Farurkhabad on the basis of his name in 1714 with the aim of destroying the Indian mythological culture, so he called on the Chief Minister to revive the Indian culture. Write a letter to Yogi Adityanath requesting to change the name of Farurkhabad to Panchal Nagar.
