This time, the Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Shashank Mani, who has done B.Tech from IIT and has a long experience in social work, as its candidate from Deoria Lok Sabha constituency. Shashank Mani is the son of former MP from Deoria, Lt. General Shriprakash Mani. BJP has been winning here for the last two elections. In 2014, Kalraj Mishra became MP from here, while in 2019, former state president of the party Ramapati Ram Tripathi was elected MP. This time the party did not give him a ticket. Talking about the grand alliance, this seat is in the account of Congress and Congress has fielded its national spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh from here. At the same time, BSP has made Sandesh Yadav its candidate.

A total of 5 assembly seats come under Deoria Lok Sabha. Out of these, three assembly seats are from Deoria district and two are from Kushinagar district. Deoria assembly seat, Pathardeva and Rampur Karkhana assembly seats of Deoria district come under this Lok Sabha, while Tamkuhi Raj, Fazilnagar assembly seat of Kushinagar district also come under this.
What was the situation of the last two elections?
The total number of voters in Deoria Lok Sabha is 1729583. In the 2019 elections, BJP had fielded Ramapati Ram Tripathi. He got 5,80,644 votes. Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Vinod Jaiswal came second here. Vinod got a total of 3,30,713 votes. Similarly, Congress’s Niaz Ahmed Khan got 51,056 votes. Talking about the 2014 elections, Kalraj Mishra of Bharatiya Janata Party got 496,500 votes here. BSP remained second in this election too. BSP candidate Niaz Ahmed got 265,386 votes. Samajwadi Party’s Baleshwar Yadav came third here. He got a total of 150,852 votes.
