Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Modi) Modi said on Thursday that many global companies want to invest in India. Modi also said that the country needs to work on ‘Design in India’ and ‘Design for the World’. He said that under ‘Design in India’ we should make such products whose quality is best and it is easily accepted all over the world. Only then we will be able to become a manufacturing hub. He also asked the state governments to compete with each other to attract foreign investment. Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort here on the 78th Independence Day, Modi said that most of the people he met in his third term want to invest in India. He said that India has a golden opportunity to become a global manufacturing hub, and state governments should make policies to attract investment. He also stressed the importance of good governance and law and order.
Indians come forward in global gaming industry
The Prime Minister, in his 11th Independence Day address from the Red Fort, also said that Indian professionals should lead the emerging global gaming industry. He said the government’s focus is on comprehensive skill development in every sector from agriculture to sanitation. Through the ‘Skill India’ programme, India has promoted growth and a new momentum. He said ‘Vocal for Local’ has become the mantra of India’s economics and with ‘One District, One Product’, each district is now proud of its production. Modi said the country is also making great efforts towards becoming self-reliant in the energy sector and tackling climate change.
There is a need for change in the agriculture sector
Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed the need for change in the agriculture sector and said that the government is making extensive efforts to improve the lives of farmers. Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on the 78th Independence Day, he also expressed concern over the deterioration in soil health due to the use of chemical fertilizers. He said that the government has started programs to promote natural farming and budget allocation has also been increased for such agricultural methods. Modi expressed confidence that India can become the world’s organic food producer. He said, “It is very important to change our agricultural system. This is the need of the hour.” Modi said that his government is giving every possible help to farmers to adopt modern methods. He also described easy loans for buying drones as one such measure.
