Lucknow. On the last day of the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors Summit, a discussion on the topic ‘Re-imagining Cities as Growth Centers for New Uttar Pradesh’ i.e. ‘Economic Development from Urban Development’ was organized regarding urban development. Union Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and Uttar Pradesh Urban Development Minister AK Sharma participated in the discussion. In the session discussion, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said, after Yogi Adityanath became the Chief Minister, there has been a lot of speed in the development and implementation of schemes in Uttar Pradesh. I have a long association with Lucknow, I keep coming here every second or third month. In June 2015, when the central government started the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, then the then government here had to struggle a lot to implement this scheme, it is not hidden from anyone. For 17 months from June 2015, only 17,000 Prime Minister’s houses could be built in the largest state of this country.
After this, after the arrival of Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh in 2017, 17 lakh houses were built in the next 17 months, these figures are enough to tell the success story of Uttar Pradesh. Today, Uttar Pradesh is number one in implementing the schemes of the Centre. The pace at which we are moving ahead for the Prime Minister’s vision 2047, according to a report, India will become the world’s largest economy by 2040 itself. Our cities are the transformers of our economy.
Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that the metro service was started by respected Atal ji, today we are one of the top 5 in the world in metro service. Also, on the basis of our ongoing projects, we will be in the top 3 in the world in the next few months. The way the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath is working, I have no doubt in saying that Uttar Pradesh is fast becoming the growth engine of the economy. Very soon the world will see the revolutionary effect of organizing this Global Investors Summit.
In the program, Uttar Pradesh Government’s Urban Development Minister AK Sharma said that I have learned a lot from Hardeep Singh Puri, your work regarding urban development is unprecedented. Minister AK Sharma said that the topic of discussion is the word ‘re-imagination’, when I became a minister, I realized that cleanliness is a big problem in city development, I started a campaign to clean the city, it started at 5 in the morning. Was. You can understand re-imagination from here. Many people told me that the address of their house was from the pile of garbage, where there was a pile of garbage, it was a mark of identification.
Similarly, the Urban Development Minister gave another example in the discussion, he said that due to cleanliness, many people met who told that it had benefitted the people of those housing schemes, their housing schemes had turned into garbage dumping zones. This cleanliness campaign brought a change in his housing scheme, today his scheme has reached a premium rate.
In this discussion, Amrit Abhijat, Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, Nitin Ramesh Gokarn, Principal Secretary, Housing also presented their views. Debasish Biswas from Deloitte Group, Rejit Mathews from Urban Development World Resources Institute, Pritam Mehra from CBRE India, Ashwinder Singh from Residential Bhartiya City, Gurmeet Singh Arora from Rajco Metal Industries and Vinay Kumar Singh MD NCRTC. Also shared your experiences.
