The Board of Control for Cricket in India i.e. BCCI has taken this big decision, that is, now no player making his debut for India will be given jersey number 7. This number will be associated with Mahi forever. There is a wave of happiness among Mahi’s fans regarding this decision of BCCI. Users are appreciating this decision. Meanwhile, the reaction of Union Information and Broadcasting and Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has come to light on BCCI retiring the jersey of former Team India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. While talking to the media, Anurag Thakur said, “Ever since Mahendra Singh Dhoni came to play cricket at the international level, he has earned not just lakhs but crores of fans. Be it IPL or Indian cricket team… Mahendra Singh Dhoni has done it to make the number 1 team from T-20 to One Day World Cup and Test Championship.
The Union Minister further said, “Even when Mahi left, people missed him a lot… but this time always comes… so much so that seeing him, many people took inspiration and started playing cricket… I hope that in the future There will be many such players who will perform even better than Dhoni.”

Earlier, BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla said, “This decision of BCCI is a kind of respect for Dhoni, because considering Dhoni’s contribution to Indian cricket, this decision has been taken…it is a very appropriate decision…Jersey number 7.” MS Dhoni had an identity and this step taken by BCCI to save that brand from being weakened is commendable.”
