Did Bangladesh team cheat? Video causes uproar
Bangladesh vs Nepal DRS: The Bangladesh team has performed brilliantly so far in this year’s T20 World Cup. The team has secured its place in the Super 8 by winning three out of its four matches in the group stage. This is the first time that the Bangladesh team has won three matches. This had never happened before. Meanwhile, when the Bangladesh team played its last league match against Nepal, it won it, but a DRS created a ruckus. Its video is going viral on social media.
Bangladesh defended the score of 106 runs
In the T20 World Cup match played between Bangladesh and Nepal, Bangladesh team scored 106 runs while batting first. The team bowled only 19.3 overs. That means Nepal had a target of 107 runs. But the entire Nepal team was out after scoring only 85 runs in 19.2 overs and Bangladesh won the match by 21 runs. During this match, there was some debate between Nepal captain Rohit Paudel and Bangladesh bowler Tanjim Hasan Sakib. Videos of this also came out. But we are talking about something else here.
A gesture came towards the dugout and DRS was taken
Actually, according to ICC rules, if a batsman asks for DRS, then this decision will be taken by the batsman himself or he can take help from his opponent. But sometimes it also happens that the batsman decides on DRS by looking towards his dugout. Something similar was seen in this match as well. This incident happened in the 14th over of Bangladesh’s innings, when Sandeep Lamichhane declared the batsman LBW and the umpire declared him out. Tanjim was about to go to the pavilion, but his partner Zakar Ali asked him to take DRS, because someone from the dugout had signaled him to do so.
The time for DRS was over
The interesting thing is that the 15-second time shown on the screen for DRS had also come to zero, even after this the on-field umpire gave permission for DRS. After this, when the third umpire saw it in the replay, it was revealed that the batsman was not out. Its video has now gone viral and people are asking serious questions to ICC. However, Nepal did not suffer much because Lamichhane dismissed Tanjim on the very next ball.
