Bhilwara. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) organized an important consumer awareness program at S Stewart Morris School in Bhilwara under its Integrated Lokpal Yojana, 2021. The main objective of this program was to make people aware of cyber fraud, especially school staff towards prevention of cyber fraud. The program was attended by RBI Assistant General Manager (AGM) Yogesh Chaudhary and Assistant Ajit Singh, as well as regional nodal officer Mrs. Apoorva Gaur, cluster head Madanmohan Sharma and branch head Shyam Sharma from Axis Bank. The program was inaugurated with the worship of Lord Ganesha and mother Saraswati, after which the school’s principal Mrs. Shashiprabha Sharma and Sanjay Parashar welcomed the guests.
At the beginning of the program, Ajit Singh of RBI highlighted the importance of the consumer awareness program and explained how and where the complaint can be filed in RBI. After this, RBI AGM Yogesh Chaudhary emphasized the importance of financial literacy. He gave detailed information to all present staff members about the precautions being taken while using online payment facilities and suggested practical measures to avoid digital fraud.
Chaudhary also mentioned that the RBI continues to provide financial literacy to customers by organizing various such programs from time to time. During the program, customers were provided financial awareness by subject experts and informed about various helpline numbers, toll-free numbers, websites and mobile apps that could be helpful in fraud. A quiz competition was also organized to promote awareness, in which the winning members were awarded prizes by the RBI.
Finally, Axis Bank’s branch head Shyam Sharma thanked all the attendees. The program outlines the importance of financial security in the digital age and shows how RBI and financial institutions are working together to empower consumers.
