Before the Bihar assembly elections, the political fierce fight over the special revision campaign of the voter list has intensified. Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Monday made a press conference at Sadakat Ashram in Patna and made serious allegations against the Election Commission and the state government.
Digvijay Singh said that,
“This voter list revision is a well-planned conspiracy, which is aimed at depriving the poor, backward and deprived sections of the franchise. This entire campaign is anti-constitution.”
Warning to go to Supreme Court
He clearly warned that if this process is not stopped, the Congress party will turn to the Supreme Court. He said that this is a direct attack on democracy and the Election Commission of India should not work under any pressure.
Meeting Lalu Prasad and discussion on India alliance
Digvijay Singh said that he will soon meet RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and urge him to call the India alliance meeting as soon as possible, so that a united strategy can be made before the election.
He also said that a delegation of opposition parties will meet the Election Commission and lodge his objection to the issue and demand the fair to revision.
Political matter
Digvijay Singh’s statement is being seen as an aggressive strategy of the Congress before the Bihar elections.
Earlier, the Congress appointed 58 observers in the state and blew the bugle of election preparations.
Now by raising the constitutional question about the voter list, the party has indicated that it is not going to sit silent on the spot.
