How to do Surya Namaskar: Surya Namaskar actually comes under the category of power yoga, which works to tone the muscles of the whole body as well as increase flexibility. If you do it in the morning, you will feel full of energy and will remain fresh throughout the day. Apart from this, it will help you in controlling weight, blood circulation will be good, oxygen supply in the body will increase, stress will be reduced and digestion will also improve. Not only this, if you are suffering from hormonal imbalance, then it can also cure this problem. So let us know what is the right way to do Surya Namaskar. Let us tell you that Surya Namaskar is done in 12 steps.

How to do Surya Namaskar:

Pranamasana (Prayer Pose): Stand on the mat, join both hands in front of the chest and breathe normally.

Hasta Uttanasana (Raised Arms Pose): Now take a deep breath and raise your hands up and bend backwards.

Padhastasan (Standing Forward Bend): Now slowly exhale and bend forward and touch your feet with your hands.

Ashwa Sanchalanasana (Equestrian Pose): Now pull one leg back and bend the front knee, raise the head.

Dandasana (Stick Pose): Now take the other leg back as well and keep the body in a straight line.

Ashtanga Namaskar (Salute with Eight Parts or Points): Now place the knees, chest and chin on the ground, while the buttocks should remain raised.

Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose): Now lift your chest between both hands, straighten your hands and look towards the sky.

downward facing breathing posture (Downward Facing Dog): Lift your hips up and keep the body in an inverted “V” shape.

Ashwa Sanchalanasana (Equestrian Pose): As before, move one leg forward and lift the head up.

Padhastasan (Standing Forward Bend): Now slowly bring the other leg forward and touch the feet again.

Hasta Uttanasana (Raised Arms Pose): Now rise up again and bend backwards.

Pranamasana (Prayer Pose): Now finally, stand straight and join both hands in front of the chest and do Surya Prarthana.
