While upgrading the smartphone, users make some common mistakes, due to which they may have to suffer huge losses. Exchange offers are given to users on e-commerce platforms and many retail stores. While buying a new smartphone, the old smartphone has to be exchanged. Come, let us know which mistakes most users ignore while selling or exchanging an old phone…
It is necessary to backup data
Many users do not backup the data present in the phone before exchanging or selling their old phone. Taking a data backup means storing every data from the smartphone on another device such as a tablet or PC. By doing this, the data present in your device does not get corrupted or gets into the hands of anyone else. While taking data backup, you have to keep in mind that along with the photos and videos present in the phone, you should also take backup of WhatsApp chats, SMS, call history etc., so that you do not miss any important message or file on the new device.
Delete banking apps
In the era of digital payments, the smartphone works as a wallet for us, in which all the bank accounts and UPI apps are downloaded. Before selling or exchanging the phone, keep in mind that log-out and uninstall all the banking apps present in the phone. By doing this, the details of your banking and UPI apps are not stored in the phone and your personal data will remain safe.
Delete social apps
Along with banking, log out from all the social media apps present in your smartphone and delete those apps, so that your social media account does not get into the hands of any other user.
Don’t forget to do a factory reset
After taking a data backup of the smartphone and deleting banking and social media apps etc., do not forget to reset the phone. You will get the option to do a factory reset in your smartphone. In this option all the data of the phone will be completely deleted.
Sell phone on authorized platform
If you have made up your mind that you have to sell the smartphone now, then you will have to take the help of an authorized platform for this. List your smartphone only on the websites of OLX, Cashify etc. Do not try to sell your phone through any other unknown websites and platforms.
