But can this radiation also cause cancer? There is no consensus among scientists around the world on this matter. Sometimes it is said in some research that there is a risk of brain tumor or cancer due to electromagnetic radiation, and sometimes this is denied in some research. In a TOI report, Dr. Gaurav Medikari, Program Director, HCG Cancer Center, Bangalore, says that concerns are being raised about electromagnetic radiation, but there is no full proof yet that AirPods cause brain tumors. Users can use it thinking that it poses negligible risk. But if you follow some guidelines in using AirPods, it will be good for your health. Like, use these gadgets as little as you can. Secondly, do not use these gadgets for a long time.
Harmful effects of excessive use of AirPods
According to the American Cancer Society, the radiofrequency waves emitted by Bluetooth earphones are very low. Even cell phones emit less radiation. So even if there is a risk from this, it is very minor. Even in a study by the University of Rome, no direct link could be established between AirPods and brain tumor. Dr. Ganesh V, Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon, Fortis Cunningham Road, Bangalore, said that whether there is a risk of brain tumor from AirPods or not, but if you use AirPods excessively or for a long time at a time, then many types of problems can occur. He said that if you listen to sound more than 85 decibels from AirPods, then it can damage the hair cells of the inner part of the ear. This can also lead to hearing loss. On the other hand, if AirPods are not cleaned properly, then there can be an infection in the ears. On the other hand, keeping AirPods in the ear for a long time can increase earwax, which can cause hearing loss.
