Jaipur. The scope of public relations and protests to save the flood forest area of Dole in the capital Jaipur is continuously increasing. On Sunday, local citizens, youth and elders at more than 10 places including Jawahar Circle, WTP, Gaurav Tower, Jawahar Kala Kendra of the city raised the voice of environmental protection by taking banners in a peaceful manner. This movement now seems to be changing into a citywide public participation.
Those protesting say that they are only trying to save the flood area of the dole, which is an important biodiversity area and is being destroyed for the Prime Minister’s Ekta Mall Project. But despite peaceful protests, the administrative and police attitude seems to be suppressed by the movement.
The protesters alleged that the Rajasthan Police is particularly trying to intimidate the Sanganer police station agitators. According to him, for the last two days, they have been gathering only in a nearby temple and praying in a peaceful manner, but despite this, the police are constantly recording video and after the demonstration, people are being threatened by calling that their vehicle has been used in the movement and legal action will be taken on them.
The most worrying situation came to light when women protesters alleged that policemen were recording them without the appearance of women police and shouting at them, which is not only inappropriate but also a violation of dignity and police manual. There is intense dissatisfaction among the agitators about this.
People associated with the movement also said that the government and administration, especially the Bhajanlal government, are adopting a policy of suppression against the environment guards. It is a matter of concern that efforts to save the environment are being seen as a crime.
The agitators have demanded the removal of the police from the flood area and immediately banning the cutting of trees being done by Rico. At the same time, he has also demanded to change the current design of Prime Minister Ekta Mall and re -prepare it in an environmentally friendly manner.
The rapid support in the public is increasing due to the flood of the dole. Every day new people are joining this campaign and are standing peacefully on the streets of Jaipur and raising their voice for a tree, a forest and a future.
The protesters said in one voice that every citizen has the right to protest peace in democracy and the government and police should respect this fundamental right of the Constitution.
It will now be seen how the government and administration take the movement from this public awareness – as an environmental warning or as a barrier.
