The domestic stock market showed a comeback at 9:55 am on Thursday after a flat opening. The BSE Sensex was then trading at 74462.71 with a gain of 241.65 points. NSE’s Nifty was also at 22670.55 with a jump of 72.75 points. Earlier, the domestic stock market opened flat on Thursday amid global cues. The benchmark Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange was trading at 72,204.60 with a decline of 16.46 points at 9:15 am when the market opened in the morning. Similarly, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty was also at 22599.65 with a gain of 1.85 points. During trading, HDFC Life, SBI Life Insurance, SBI, BPCL and ONGC were the major gainers on the Nifty, while Power Grid Corp, Sun Pharma, Hindalco, JSW Steel and Grasim were trading in the loss.

According to Money Control, ITC, InterGlobe Aviation, Honasa Consumer, Bayer CropScience, Cello World, CESC, Concord Biotech, Finolex Cables, Page Industries, Tata Investment Corporation and Jagel Prepaid Ocean Services will release March quarter results on May 23. According to provisional NSE data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 686.04 crore on May 23, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) put in shares worth Rs 961.91 crore. Larsen & Toubro, Axis Bank, BPCL, ONGC and Apollo Hospitals are the top gainers on the NSE Nifty 50 index, while the top laggards include Su Pharma, Power Grid Corp, JSW Steel, Hindalco Industries, Grasim.
Nifty Midcap 100 touched its highest level ever
Nifty Midcap 100 touched its all-time high of 52,448.95 during the early trading hours. Meanwhile, WTI crude prices were trading down 0.80 percent at $76.95 on Thursday morning, while Brent crude prices were down 0.78 percent at $81.25.
