5G Network DoT
DoT is exploring innovative ways for 5G services. People can now be provided network through balloons and drones instead of mobile towers in times of emergency. According to the reports coming out, the Department of Telecommunications can provide mobile network to people through balloons or drones in times of any kind of emergency or if the mobile tower does not work. The department has made preparations to improve the infrastructure for this.
It will be used during natural calamity
According to the reports coming out, the Department of Telecommunications will use this new mode of telecommunication in case of natural disaster or any other emergency. Many times there is a problem in restoring telecom services during a natural disaster. It also takes a long time to create a new mobile site. In such a situation, telecom operators can maintain the communication system smoothly by using these new technologies.
By providing 5G network through drones and balloons, the agency can be contacted in times of disaster, so that relief can be provided as soon as possible. Not only this, it will also help in evacuating people trapped there during disasters. If a report is to be believed, the Department of Telecommunications can soon start trials for this. Telecom companies will test 5G network transmitters through drones and balloons so that it can be used as an alternative communication system in emergencies. It is expected that the Department of Telecommunications will complete this trial by June next year.
Preparing for satellite connectivity
On the other hand, the Department of Telecommunications may soon start the process of spectrum allocation for satellite communication as well. According to a recent report, new telecom rules can be implemented 100 days after the formation of the new government. Satellite communication will also prove useful for people in times of disaster. Also, telecom and internet services can be availed even in remote areas.
