New Delhi. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court gave a double blow to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, arrested in the money laundering case related to the liquor policy scam, by rejecting his interim bail plea. Along with this, the court extended Kejriwal’s judicial custody by 14 days till June 19.
On the other hand, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva reacting to the court’s decision said that Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party should avoid these small and cheap political tricks. For playing the game of bail again and again, today the court has made it clear that you stay in Tihar Jail and whatever health care you need, the jail authorities will provide it. Arvind Kejriwal has been rejected by the people of Delhi. There is a very serious allegation of corruption on him, so I think now he will have to think that he should stop playing the game of jail and bail again and again and accept the court’s decision.

Let us tell you that the Supreme Court had granted interim bail to Arvind Kejriwal for 21 days on May 10 for campaigning in the Lok Sabha elections. As per the court’s order, Kejriwal had to surrender on June 2 after the elections ended on June 1. But before surrendering, Kejriwal had sought extension of interim bail period by 7 days from the Supreme Court to get a PET CT scan done, citing his poor health. The Supreme Court bench had said that only CJI Chandrachud can decide on this. After this, the Supreme Court registry rejected this petition. After the petition was rejected here, Arvind Kejriwal knocked the door of Rouse Avenue Court and demanded extension of interim bail period. The court reserved the decision on June 1 after hearing both the parties. After this, Arvind Kejriwal surrendered in Tihar Jail on June 2.
