Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has achieved a major achievement on Thursday. DRDO has informed that India has successfully launch-tested the Indigenous Technology Cruise Missile (ITCM) from the Integrated Test Center located in Chandipur, Odisha. DRDO has informed that all the sub-systems of the ITCM missile performed as expected during the test. With the successful flight testing of this long-range subsonic cruise missile, India’s defense sector is said to be further strengthened.
Sukhoi aircraft kept an eye
DRDO has informed in its information that Sukhoi aircraft of Indian Air Force had monitored the flight of ITCM cruise missile. The Integrated Test Range (ITR) had also deployed several range sensors such as radar, Electro Optical Tracking System (EOTS) and telemetry at various locations to monitor the performance of the missile. The missile demonstrated sea-skimming flight at very low altitude using proper navigation.

DRDO has informed that the successful flight of the Indigenous Technology Cruise Missile (ITCM) has also established the reliable performance of the indigenous operating system developed by the Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), Bengaluru. Several senior scientists from various DRDO laboratories along with representatives of its manufacturing partners were also present during the test.
Defense Minister congratulated
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has congratulated the Defense Research and Development Organization for the successful flight-testing of the cruise missile developed with indigenous technology. He said that the successful development of indigenously operated long-range subsonic cruise missile is a major achievement of Indian defense research and development. At the same time, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has also congratulated DRDO on this achievement.
