New Delhi. The Indian women’s cricket team has lost its chance to win the T20 series for the first time at home against Australia. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur’s flop show continued in the do-die match also. In the third T20 played at DY Patil Sports Academy Ground in Navi Mumbai, visiting Australia defeated India by 7 wickets. With this, India lost the 3-match series 1-2. Both the teams were facing each other for the sixth time in the T20 bilateral series. Australia won the 5th T20 series against India.
Chasing the target of 148 runs set by India, the Australian team (IND w vs AUS w) scored 149 runs for 3 wickets in 18.4 overs. Captains Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney gave a blazing start to Australia. Both of them made a partnership of 85 runs for the first wicket. Healy was out after scoring a half-century. She was out LBW by Deepti Sharma on a personal score of 55 runs. Healy hit 9 fours and one six in 38 balls. Beth Mooney returned unbeaten after scoring 52 runs while Phoebe Litchfield scored 17 not out. Talia McGrath scored 20 runs in 15 balls while Ellyse Perry could not even open her account. Pooja Vastrakar took maximum 2 wickets from India’s side.

India scored 147 runs for 6 wickets
Earlier, after a strong start by Shefali Verma (26 runs), the intelligent batting of Smriti Mandhana (29 runs) and wicketkeeper batsman Richa Ghosh (34 runs) helped the Indian women’s team score a challenging score of 147 runs for 6 wickets. In the last overs, Amanjot Kaur (17 not out) and Pooja Vastrakar (7 runs) hit boundaries to take the team to a challenging score. For Australia, Annabel Sutherland once again bowled economically and took 2 wickets for just 12 runs in 4 overs. Georgia Wareham also got two wickets while Megan Schutt and Ashley Gardner took one wicket each.
Harmanpreet Kaur could not touch double figures for the sixth consecutive innings
The Indian team was in a good position after the powerplay at 51 runs for 1 wicket but the team lost 3 wickets between 60 and 66 runs. Mandhana was out after hitting two fours and a six, but Jemimah Rodrigues (two) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (three), who were running in the same great rhythm, could not make any contribution. Harmanpreet failed to reach double figures for the sixth consecutive innings.
