Raipur (State Bureau). Drug Trade in Chhattisgarh: The joint team of Narcotics Cell and District Police has taken major action against drug dealers in Chhattisgarh. In the last one week, success has been achieved in cracking down on drug dealers in many districts of the state. 23 cases of NDPS and one thousand 72 cases were registered against those doing illegal business of liquor. During this, two thousand 32 kg of ganja and three thousand 65 liters of liquor were confiscated.
Increased activism after CM’s rebuke
After reprimanding Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel regarding drug trade in the state, Narcotics Cell has started a campaign against drug dealers. During this, massive action was taken against organized criminals doing illegal business of ganja, brown sugar, narcotics and liquor.
Based on technical information
Top officials of the Police Headquarters said that the police made manual and technical information the basis for cracking down on organized gangs. This is the reason that the smugglers from neighboring states were also successful in catching them. Raipur Police arrested inter-state smugglers Sheikh Mahmood and Ravi Narayan and recovered 15 kg 500 grams of ganja, 240 grams of charas and a large quantity of drugs. The accused used to buy drugs from Odisha residents Tapas Paresh and Sameer Kumar.
Police caught the accused by camping in Odisha
A 10-member team of Raipur Police arrested both the accused by setting up a camp in Odisha. This gang is active in many states and is operating the network from Odisha. Along with this, five thousand 630 nos. of Nitrogen, 26 thousand 400 nos. of Alfazolam and three thousand 100 no. of Pentazocine banned intoxicant injection were confiscated. On the basis of information, Raipur Police caught Mahendra Patel with brown sugar and large quantity of drugs.
Such success was achieved in these districts
Rajnandgaon police arrested inter-state accused Pukhraj Chandel and seized 371 kg of ganja from him. 57 tola gold ornaments, 12 lakh 48 thousand 400 rupees in cash were recovered from the accused.
Durg police arrested three inter-state smugglers Mohammad Wahid, Prithvi Singh and Prince alias Gautam Mahar, who brought brown sugar from Maharashtra and sold it to Chhattisgarh.
Narcotics Cell of Mahasamund Police arrested drug dealer Hitesh Chandrakar and seized a large number of banned drugs.
