Sitamarhi. Sitamarhi’s JDU MP Devesh Chandra Thakur appeared on the back foot regarding his statement. During a press conference held in Sitamarhi, the MP said that his statement has been presented in a distorted manner. When a public representative does not do good work, he has to face criticism from the general public. If a public representative does not get votes even after doing good work, then he has the freedom of expression to speak on this subject. Thakur said that today people of all communities, castes and religions are welcome here.
Thakur said, ‘A few days ago, I made a statement. It was widely publicized. Basically, I had said that I thank all the voters of Sitamarhi, but the people from whom I had a lot of expectations and for whom I had worked a lot, did not support me that much. I was deeply hurt and am still hurt. I should get freedom of expression.’
The newly elected MP said, ‘Since I have done a lot of work, it is natural that I will say emotional things. My relations will remain the same as they were yesterday. Elections came and went. We are all Indians and people of Bihar. Bihar’s culture is of harmony. My relations with anyone can never deteriorate.’
It is worth noting that the newly elected MP from Sitamarhi, Devesh Chandra Thakur, had given a controversial statement on the reduction in the margin of victory. JDU MP Devesh Chandra Thakur had said that he has been active in politics for the last 22 years. During this time, he did the most work for Yadavs and Muslims but now he will not work for Yadavs and Muslims. If someone is from this caste and comes to his place to get some work done, then he should definitely come, have tea and breakfast and go back, I will not do their work. After this statement of Thakur, there was a lot of uproar in the politics of the country and the state. Now the MP has clarified his statement.
