Himachal Pradesh, who is facing outbreak of nature due to loss of life and property due to floods and landslides due to ecosytening erosion in Himachal Pradesh, has been said by the Supreme Court that the situation in the state is getting worse. “… But we are afraid to say that it is too late to issue such notifications for the state and try to handle the situation.”
The bench said, “The situation in the state of Himachal Pradesh is getting worse to worse. Serious natural disasters have come in the last few years due to serious ecological imbalance and other environmental conditions. This year also hundreds of people were killed and thousands of assets were destroyed in floods and landslides. Nature is definitely angry with the ongoing activities in the state of Himachal Pradesh.”
The bench said, “It is not appropriate to blame only nature for the disaster in Himachal Pradesh. Nature is not responsible for incidents like frequent landslides, landslides on roads, collapse of houses and buildings, collapse of roads etc.
Citing experts and various reports, the bench said, “… The main causes of destruction in the state of Himachal Pradesh are hydropower projects, four -lane roads, deforestation, multi -storeyed buildings, etc. Himachal Pradesh is situated in the lap of Himalayan Mountains. It is necessary to take the opinion of geologists, environmental experts and local people before starting any development project here.”
