New Delhi. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s troubles are showing no sign of abating. Rouse Avenue Court has extended the remand period of CM Kejriwal. Earlier, while arguing in the court, Kejriwal’s lawyer called ED’s allegations baseless and asked for his release from custody. On the other hand, ASG SV Raju, appearing for the ED, said that Kejriwal is not giving details of his assets. Apart from this, other accused in Delhi liquor scam case have to be made to sit with Kejriwal and interrogated face to face. After this the court extended the remand period of Kejriwal.
ED made a series of allegations against CM Kejriwal in the court. Know everything in 10 points :-
The ED told the court that Arvind Kejriwal’s movable and immovable property, income tax returns and other financial information had been sought, which had not been given by him yet. Now ED has sought information about financial details of Arvind Kejriwal from the concerned bank and Income Tax Department. After getting information from the concerned department, Kejriwal will be questioned in this regard.
ED has informed the court that the person who was the candidate of Aam Aadmi Party in Goa has said in the recorded statement that the party had promised that the party will bear all the financial expenses during the elections.
Data is being extracted from the digital device seized from the house of Aam Aadmi Party leader Deepak Singla, who was active in the Goa elections. After getting the data, there may be a need to interrogate Arvind Kejriwal.
ED informed the court that C. Arvind, who was Manish Sisodia’s PS during his custody, was brought face to face with Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
While seeking remand, ED said in the court that it has to be inquired regarding the information related to the visitors/people coming to the Chief Minister’s office.
The court was told by the ED that Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on the basis of the evidence collected so far by the investigating agency.
The court has said in its order that Aam Aadmi Party MP Sandeep Pathak will also be able to meet him during his custody. Daughter Harshita Kejriwal will also be able to meet.
The court has already allowed wife Sunita Kejriwal and PA Bibhav Kumar as well as lawyers to meet Kejriwal in custody.
ED has already declared Arvind Kejriwal as the kingpin in the liquor scam case in the court. Also alleged that Kejriwal’s role was important in making the excise policy.
Investigating agency ED has accused him of taking bribe of Rs 100 crore. ED says that the money earned from the liquor scam case was used in Goa.
