New Delhi. The Indian Navy has set another example of bravery and strength at sea, which the world is admiring. In fact, Houthi extremists had launched a missile attack on an oil tanker ship flying the flag of Panama. After this, the Indian Navy took swift action and came to the aid of the ship and ensured the safety of the crew. There were 22 Indian citizens in the 30-member crew of this ship.
Officials said that Indian Navy’s destroyer INS Kochi responded immediately after the attack on the tanker named ‘MV Andromeda Star’ on April 26 and all the crew members are safe.

Meanwhile, the US Central Command said that Iran-backed Houthi extremists fired three anti-ship ballistic missiles from Yemen into the Red Sea around the merchant ships ‘Maisha’ and ‘MV Andromeda Star’. The Panama-flagged MV Andromeda Star is a Seychelles-operated vessel. American Central Command said that the ship suffered minor damage in this missile attack.

Indian Navy said, ‘Indian Naval Destroyer INS Kochi was deployed in a mission to respond to a maritime security incident involving the attack on the Panama-flagged oil tanker MV Andromeda Star on 26 April. done.’ It said the ship was intercepted by an Indian Navy ship and reconnaissance was conducted by helicopter to assess the situation.
The Navy said in a statement that an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team of the force was also deployed for risk assessment. A total of 30 crew, including 22 Indians, are reported safe and the vessel is continuing its scheduled voyage to the next port, it said.
