Bengaluru police have registered an FIR against two ED officials probing the Valmiki fund transfer scam. The FIR has been filed on the complaint of Additional Director of Social Welfare Department Kalesh. The ED officials have been accused of trying to strike a deal with the officer in the name of investigation to implicate the CM and others in the case. The Additional Director was called by the ED for questioning in the said case. The two officers named in the FIR are Mittal and Murali Kannan.
After the Valmiki fund transfer scam came to light, the state government’s Scheduled Tribe Welfare Minister B. Nagendra had also resigned. Congress MLA Nagendra is currently facing investigation. It is alleged that a scam of Rs 187 crore has taken place in the Maharishi Valmiki Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation.
What is the matter?
On May 26, a government employee committed suicide in Karnataka and mentioned a scam of crores in the suicide note. According to the allegation, crores of rupees were transferred illegally in Karnataka. Maharishi Valmiki Scheduled Tribe Development Corporation was involved in this. In this note, he mentioned the names of his senior officers and the minister, who had asked him to transfer money illegally. B Nagendra was also mentioned in the suicide note. Due to this, he had to resign.
Allegations of Rs 187 crore scam
According to the suicide note of the government employee, a total of Rs 187 crore was transferred illegally. Out of this, Rs 88.62 crore was sent to different accounts. Some of these accounts were also of big IT companies and Hyderabad’s Cooperative Bank. According to the suicide note, Rs 187 crore was illegally transferred from the account of Scheduled Tribe Corporation under B Nagendra’s ministry. Union Bank of India had complained in this matter. After this, the CBI registered an FIR. After this, there was a meeting between Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Congress chief Shivakumar. Both of them allegedly asked Nagendra to resign. Along with this, Nagendra was promised that if he was found innocent, he would be given this ministry again. ED is investigating this case.
