New Delhi. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was granted bail in the liquor scam case by the vacation judge of Rouse Avenue Court, but ED is going to challenge it in Delhi High Court today. According to sources, challenging the bail granted to Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi High Court, ED is going to demand an immediate stay on it and an early hearing. Earlier, Delhi High Court has rejected Arvind Kejriwal’s bail plea once. Let us tell you that Arvind Kejriwal is the only accused in the liquor scam who has been granted bail by the lower court.
Vacation Bench Special Judge Justice Bindu had pronounced the decision to grant bail to Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday. The judge had said that the complete decision regarding granting bail will be uploaded on Friday. Also, the vacation bench judge had said that Kejriwal will have to fill a bail bond before the duty judge on Friday. The judge has imposed some conditions for granting bail to Arvind Kejriwal. These include not influencing the witnesses and appearing before the court and the investigating agency for proceedings related to the case. Arvind Kejriwal has been granted bail by the Rouse Avenue Court on a bond of Rs 1 lakh.
ED had asked the judge for 48 hours to appeal in the High Court against the bail granted to Arvind Kejriwal. The court had clearly refused to grant it. ED has called Arvind Kejriwal the kingpin in the liquor scam case. ED says that it has evidence that Arvind Kejriwal demanded a bribe of Rs 100 crore from the South Cartel related to the liquor scam. ED alleges that Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party received Rs 100 crore through the liquor scam and spent Rs 45 crore out of it in the Goa Assembly elections. At the same time, Arvind Kejriwal and Aam Aadmi Party say that there was no liquor scam in Delhi. They also argue that CBI and ED have not been able to recover even a single penny of the scam till now. At the same time, ED says that when all the money has been spent, how will it be recovered. The investigating agency says that it has the entire money trail.
