New Delhi. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 in the money laundering case related to the alleged liquor scam in Delhi. After this, the Supreme Court gave him a big relief and granted him interim bail to campaign in the Lok Sabha elections-2024. After this, on June 2, he had to surrender before the Tihar Jail administration. Earlier, he had filed an application in the Supreme Court to extend the period of his interim bail petition, which was rejected. CM Kejriwal then approached the trial court and filed a bail petition. Recently, his petition was heard, which was postponed till June 14.
In fact, the court had sought a reply from the investigating agency ED on the bail plea of CM Arvind Kejriwal. The agency filed its reply in 182 pages in the court. When the court heard CM Kejriwal’s bail plea, his lawyer made a different demand from the court. Kejriwal’s lawyer said that the agency has filed a reply of about 200 pages on the bail plea, which he still needs more time to read. Accepting the request of Kejriwal’s lawyer, the court postponed the hearing on the bail plea till June 14, 2024.
Why did ASG Raju get angry in front of the judge? Then Arvind Kejriwal’s lawyer said- this is absolutely absurd…
Serious allegations against CM Kejriwal
Investigative agency ED had arrested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on 21 March after a long interrogation, making serious allegations against him. The agency alleged that Kejriwal is the kingpin in the case related to the liquor policy scam. ED says that Delhi’s excise policy was made in exchange for money. However, Arvind Kejriwal has called this allegation baseless and fabricated. Kejriwal says that even after dozens of raids and search operations, the investigating agency has not found a single penny.
Manish Sisodia is still in jail
Along with Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh have also been made accused in the money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor scam. Manish Sisodia has been in jail since February last year. He has not yet got any relief. On the other hand, AAP leader Sanjay Singh has also got bail from the Supreme Court. Apart from AAP leaders, ED has made many more arrests in this case.
