New Delhi: Taking cognizance of the statements of the star campaigners of the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress, the Election Commission has directed the leaders of both the parties to exercise restraint in their statements. In its order, the Commission asked the Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge to issue a formal note on behalf of their party. The Commission said that both the parties should instruct their star campaigners to exercise caution and decorum in their speeches.
Stop speeches that divide society
In fact, the Election Commission has slammed both BJP and Congress for campaigning on the basis of caste, community, language and religion. The Commission has directed the BJP and its star campaigners to refrain from religious and communal speeches in the election campaign and to stop making speeches that divide the society.
Do not say things that give false impression in your speech.
Along with the BJP, the commission has asked the Congress to ensure that star campaigners do not make statements that create a false impression that the Constitution of India can be abolished. Along with this, the Election Commission has also given orders regarding Agniveer. The Commission further directed the Congress leaders not to politicize the defense forces. Do not make divisive statements regarding the socio-economic composition of the Defense Forces.
