BJP broke the myth of changing power in Uttarakhand every five years.
Former Akali Dal chief and five-time chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, 94, also lost the election from his traditional seat, Lambi. Former Chief Minister and Punjab Lok Congress chief Captain Amarinder Singh lost from Patiala, former Deputy Chief Minister and Akali chief Sukhbir Singh Badal from Jalalabad, outgoing Deputy CM of Punjab OP Soni from Amritsar Central and Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu from Amritsar East. All these big faces of Punjab were defeated by the candidates of Aam Aadmi Party.
The BJP won 20 seats in 40-seat Goa. Here the majority figure is 21 seats. With the help of independents, the BJP once again returned to power.
To form the government in Manipur with 60 seats, the figure of 31 is needed. The BJP managed to cross the majority mark with 32 seats.
