In a series of tweets, Tharoor said the results of the recent assembly elections are sad for all Congress leaders who have faith in the Indian National Congress. “It is time to reaffirm India’s view that Congress has stood for its positive agenda towards the country,” he said. It is time to reform our organizational leadership to ignite such thoughts once again.
Have to accept change for success: Tharoor
Shashi Tharoor further said that one thing is clear that if we want to be successful then we have to accept change. Meanwhile, 23 Congress leaders (G-23) have decided to hold a meeting in the next 48 hours. Tharoor is also included in this group. According to a report by news agency ANI, another senior Congress leader said on the condition of anonymity that we are hurt by these results of our party.
Congress Working Committee meeting will also be organized soon
In the assembly elections held in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur and Goa, the Congress has faced defeat in all. In Punjab, Congress has to face defeat at the hands of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). On the other hand, Congress General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala has said that the party has decided to hold a meeting of the Congress Working Committee soon to review these election results and to consider the strategy ahead.
