Bad news has come from Hyderabad. Here the battery of his electric two wheeler was kept for charging by the owner house inside a house in Nizamabad area of the city. During the night time, when the members of the house were sleeping, the battery exploded and the elder of the house, 80-year-old Ramaswamy, died. The grandson and daughter-in-law of the deceased have been injured in this accident. This electric scooter battery belonged to a company named Pure EV and on the complaint of B Prakash on behalf of the victim’s family, the police have registered a case against the company under section 304A of IPC.
Let us tell you that this is the third such case of explosion in the battery of Pure EV scooter recently. Recently, similar incidents were reported in other electric scooters as well. According to a report by moneycontrol.com, the spokesperson of Pure EV has issued a statement to the media in this regard and said that the company is deeply pained by this accident and expresses its condolences to the family of the victim. The company is cooperating fully with the local administration and is collecting all the information regarding the incident from the consumer. This incident happened 2 days ago. The company has further said that they do not have any records regarding the sale or service of this scooter. The company is trying to find out whether this scooter is a case of second hand sale or not?
How do we douse these fires?
Another @pureevindia #electricscooter catches fire in Warangal this time. Its the 4th scooter from the company to catch fire since Sept 2021.

According to the report, on April 13 itself, NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant issued his statement urging the original equipment manufacturers of electric vehicles to automatically recall the vehicles of such detective batches. On the other hand, Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari had also said during a statement in Parliament that fire incidents in electric vehicles are happening due to rising temperature.
Let us tell you that recently in an electric vehicle showroom in Tamil Nadu, there was an accident due to fire in an e-scooter. At that time the company had recalled 3215 such scooters. Well, it should be expected that in the midst of the increasing trend of e-vehicle at present, companies will solve it by finding out the reasons for the increasing incidents of fire in batteries. By the way, a lesson should also be taken from this tragedy of Hyderabad that everyone should not bring the batteries of their electric vehicles indoors for charging. Arrangements for its charging should be made in the parking area outside the house itself.
