The Bombay High Court has allowed Anand Taltumbde, an accused in the Elgar Parishad case, to visit his mother Chandrapur for two days in the wake of the death of his brother, alleged Naxal leader Milind Taltumbde. Anand is currently lodged in Navi Mumbai’s Taloja Jail.
Justices SB Shukre and GA Sanap, after hearing a petition filed through senior advocate Mihir Desai, allowed Anand to visit his mother between March 8 and 9 in police protection in the wake of the death of his brother Milind in an encounter in November last year. Gave permission. National Investigation Agency (NIA) counsel Sandesh Patil opposed the plea saying Milind was a notorious Maoist leader and was engaged in illegal activities.
