Encounter in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir, one Captain martyred, four terrorists also eliminated

New Delhi. A brave captain of the Indian Army sacrificed his life in an encounter in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, August 14, while four terrorists were killed. According to officials, four terrorists are expected to have been killed in this encounter. The martyred captain was associated with 48 National Rifles. The Army’s White Knight Corps has informed that a large-scale operation is underway to search for terrorists in the area, in which a large quantity of weapons and ammunition have been recovered. According to sources, the security forces had received secret information that some terrorists were hiding in the forests of Patnitop in Udhampur district and Asar in Doda. After this, a search operation was conducted in the area. Between 7:00 and 8:00 pm on Tuesday evening, the security forces reached the rooms where the terrorists were staying. There they saw that the terrorists were sleeping with their weapons and ammunition.

The terrorists opened fire as soon as they saw the security forces

As soon as the security forces reached there, the terrorists panicked and started firing. In response, the security forces also took the front and started firing bullets. Seeing themselves surrounded, the terrorists tried to run away from there, but in panic they left their M4 carbine and some ammunition there. The security forces immediately recovered those weapons and secured the area.

Increasing terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir

Terrorist activities have increased in Jammu and Kashmir in the last few weeks. Earlier, terrorist attacks used to happen mainly in the valley, but now the activity of terrorists has increased in the Jammu region as well. In recent times, incidents of ambushes on army convoys have increased, which has become a serious challenge for security.

Defense Minister called a high level meeting

In view of these increasing terrorist attacks, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh called an important meeting on Wednesday. National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, DGMO and top officials of security agencies were present in this meeting. In the meeting, a strategy was discussed to deal with the terrorists.
