Baran, State Minister of State for Energy (Independent Charge) Hiralal Nagar on Thursday inspected the Chhabra Super Thermal Power Project located in Motipura village in Baran district. He visited the super critical units of the project and held a meeting with the officials and reviewed the power generation and management.
Nagar instructed the officials to ensure smooth power generation in maximum capacity from all units in view of increasing power demand in the summer season. Also, necessary steps should be taken to start the closed units due to technical reasons.
Devendra Shringi, Chairman and Managing Director of Rajasthan State Electricity Generation Corporation, Sanjay Sanadya, Chief Engineer of Super Critical and Virendra Kumar, Chief Engineer of Chhabra Thermal were also present on the occasion.
The Energy Minister said that regular supply of coal is being provided from the coal block of the state in Chhattisgarh, due to which coal -based electrical projects have storage of consumption of 20 to 25 days. He also said that most power is being produced in Rajasthan with solar energy.
To promote green energy, the installation of 1000 MW capacity battery storage plants in the state is under process, so that solar energy produced in the day can be stored and used at night. Construction of about 150 grid sub-stations in the state is also in progress to make the energy supply more smooth.
Nagar also informed that consumers are being given free electricity per month per month in the state. By connecting with the central government’s “PM Surya Ghar Free Power Scheme”, now up to 150 units will be provided to consumers per month through solar plant as per the budget announcement.
The Energy Minister also inspected the Assistant Engineer (O&M) office and 33 KV GSS in Chhabra. During this time, he instructed to improve various chaos and instructed the Superintending Engineer to give charge sheet to the concerned personnel.
