New Delhi. In the second Test match being played in Nottingham, England’s team has made a strong comeback against West Indies. After losing three wickets for 140 runs in the second innings, the team scored a huge score of 425 runs. In the first innings, West Indies had scored 457 runs in reply to England’s 416 runs and gained a lead of 41 runs. With the help of centuries from Joe Root (122) and Harry Brook (109) in the second innings, England set a target of 385 runs for West Indies to win the second Test cricket match.
On the fourth day of play, two England batsmen scored centuries and made a double century attack on West Indies. England resumed their innings at 248 runs for the loss of three wickets in the morning. Root was then playing at 37 and Brook at 71. Both of them made a partnership of 189 runs for the fourth wicket due to which England was able to put up a strong score despite the poor performance of the lower middle order batsmen. Root scored the 32nd century of his career while Brook scored the fifth century.
