ENG vs WI 2nd Test: The second match of the 3-match Test series being played between England and West Indies is being played at the Nottingham ground, on the first day of which the host team was all out after scoring 416 runs in its first innings. On the second day of the match, a brilliant century was seen from Kavem Hodge’s bat from the Windies team, due to which the team was able to reach this strong position.

Opening pair gave a good start

The opening pair of West Indies team captain Craig Brathwaite and Michael Lewis gave the team a good start by making a partnership of 53 runs for the first wicket, in which this was the first time for the Windies team after the year 2009 when their opening pair made a half-century partnership for the first wicket while playing a Test match in England. However, after losing the first wicket at a score of 53, the Windies team lost three wickets till the score of 83. From here, Alik Athanaze and Kavez Hodge took charge of the team’s innings. A great partnership of 175 runs was seen between the two for the second wicket, which was broken by Ben Stokes by sending Athanaze to the pavilion at a personal score of 82.

In the last session of the second day, Kavez Hodge completed his century but he could not return to the pavilion unbeaten, he was out LBW by Chris Woakes on a personal score of 121. After this, Jason Holder and Joshua De Silva did not let the team suffer any further setback on the second day. Holder remained unbeaten on 23 while Joshua remained unbeaten on 32. In bowling for England, Shoaib Bashir has taken 2 wickets while Gus Atkinson, Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes have taken 1-1 wickets.
