Engineering graduate, became IFS officer by cracking UPSC, now suspended

Story of IFS: IAS, IPS and IFS officers are made through the Civil Services Examination of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The dream of becoming a civil servant cannot be fulfilled without passing this examination. One has to work very hard for this. Despite this, there are many officers who are in the headlines for their work. But there are also many officers who remain in the news due to their exploits. One such IFS officer of the 2014 batch was transferred a few days ago and was suspended immediately after. His name is Mohan Choudhary (IFS Mohan Choudhary).

This IFS officer is an engineering graduate
Mohan Choudhary became an IFS officer after passing the UPSC exam in the year 2014. He is a resident of Rajasthan. He has studied Bachelor of Engineering. He is an AGMUT cadre officer. He has been suspended by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. He was earlier posted as DFO in Jammu and Kashmir and some time ago he was transferred to the Union Territory of Ladakh.

In this regard, the order issued by the Union Ministry on Friday said that Mohan Choudhary was transferred to the Union Territory of Ladakh as Deputy Conservator of Forest (DCF) under Jammu and Kashmir Government Order No. 16-JK (FST) 2022, dated 13-02-2022 and was ordered to join his duty in Ladakh. According to the report of Kashmir Reader, he was relieved the next day, but he did not join his duty in Ladakh. Apart from this, his representation/reply to the show cause notice in two parts in June 2024 was found unsatisfactory and ineligible.

Suspended due to this reason
The order issued states that the conduct of Mohan Choudhary (IFS) is in violation of the All India Services (Conduct) Rules, 1968 and is therefore inappropriate for a government employee as it amounts to indiscipline, disobeying orders of seniors, lack of loyalty and dedication towards duty and dereliction of duty. Therefore, now the Central Government has placed Mohan Choudhary on suspension till the departmental proceedings are pending. He has now been called to New Delhi by the Union Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
